Pawgnosis

Pawgnosis is a symptom journal for pet owners, operated by Digital Source ("we," "us," "our"). This policy explains what information the app collects, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have.
Pawgnosis is published by Digital Source, based in Florida, United States. You can reach us at adrian@digitalsource.store with any question about this policy or your information.
We do not collect your precise or approximate location. We do not collect your contacts, calendar, or microphone. We do not collect health data about people. We do not use analytics or advertising trackers. We never receive your full payment card details — purchases are handled entirely by Apple.
We do not use your information to build advertising profiles, and we do not serve ads in Pawgnosis.
Dr. Paws is an informational feature, not a veterinary service. It does not diagnose illness and is not a substitute for examination and treatment by a licensed veterinarian. Always consult your veterinarian about your pet's health, and seek emergency care immediately if your pet is in distress.
When you send a message to Dr. Paws, we transmit your question — together with relevant context from your pet's profile and recent journal entries — to Anthropic, PBC, which operates the Claude language model that generates the response. This transmission is necessary to produce an answer informed by your pet's history.
Anthropic processes this content solely to return a response to us. Under our commercial agreement with Anthropic, content sent through the Claude API is not used to train their models. We do not send your email address, name, or payment information to Anthropic.
Dr. Paws with full conversation history is part of Pawgnosis Pro. You can use every other feature of Pawgnosis without ever using Dr. Paws.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only with the service providers that make the app work:
| Provider | Purpose | What it receives |
|---|---|---|
| Base44 | Application platform, database, authentication, file storage | Account details, pet profiles, journal entries, photos |
| Anthropic, PBC | Dr. Paws responses | Your chat messages and the pet context attached to them |
| RevenueCat | Subscription management | Your account identifier and purchase status |
| Apple | App distribution, sign-in, and payments | Purchase and billing information, handled by Apple |
| Sign-in | Your email address, when you choose to sign in with Google |
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Use, or to protect the rights and safety of our users or the public. If Digital Source is acquired or merges with another business, your information may transfer as part of that transaction; we will notify you before it becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Your information is stored on servers in the United States. If you use Pawgnosis from outside the United States, you are transferring your information to a country whose data protection laws may differ from those where you live.
We keep your pet records for as long as your account is active, because the value of a symptom journal is its history. When you delete an individual entry, pet, or photo, it is removed from our active systems promptly and purged from backups within 30 days.
When you delete your account, we delete your personal information and pet records within 30 days, except where we must retain limited records to comply with legal, tax, or accounting obligations. Dr. Paws conversations are deleted along with the account.
You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app, under Settings. You can also email us at adrian@digitalsource.store and we will process the deletion for you.
You can view and edit every pet profile and journal entry directly in the app, and export your records as a PDF at any time. If you want a copy of your information in another format, email us.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights — including the right to access, correct, delete, or port your information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Residents of California may request disclosure of the categories of personal information collected and may opt out of sale or sharing; as stated above, we do not sell or share personal information. We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights.
To make a request, email adrian@digitalsource.store. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.
Medication and vaccination reminders and other notifications can be turned off in the app or in your device settings.
Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and encrypted at rest by our hosting provider. Access to production systems is restricted and protected by authentication controls, and records are isolated per account so that one user cannot read another's data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Pawgnosis is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child under 13 has given us personal information, email us and we will delete it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the date at the top of this page, and we will give notice in the app before any material change takes effect. Continuing to use Pawgnosis after a change means you accept the revised policy.
